Full-scale laboratory testing of a geosynthetically reinforced soil railway structure

چکیده

Railway lines typically use traditional sloping embankments as the principal means of track support. However, Geosynthetically Reinforced Soil (GRS) systems have gained popularity alternatives to conventional embankments, particularly for high-speed in Japan. This system requires less ground stabilization/improvement and land take than due its smaller base area. research investigates immediate long-term settlement behaviour a with Retaining Wall (GRS-RW) subject cyclic loading two forms: concrete slab ballasted track. First, three-sleeper section is constructed at full-scale under controlled laboratory conditions, followed by Both are supported on 1.2 m deep subgrade frost protection layer accordance railway design standards. Two different axle load magnitudes applied statically, then cyclically/dynamically, using 6 actuators replicate moving train loads. It observed that performs significantly better terms elastic plastic deformation both static loading. Overall, amplitude rail displacement an individual cycle was approximately 25% lower sleeper 6–7 times higher.

Laboratory testing of steel fibre reinforced shotcrete

Uniaxial and triaxial compression tests on steel fibre reinforced shotcrete (SFRS) have been used to quantify the elastic–plastic response behaviour for both the peak and post-peak regions. The laboratory tests were conducted with a servo-controlled testing machine to obtain complete stress–strain curves. The test results include unconfined and triaxial compressive strengths, shear strengths an...

A laboratory Study on Reinforced Expansive Soil with Granular Pile Anchors

Granular Pile Anchor (GPA) considers one of the solution foundation techniques, designed to mitigate the lifting of the sole resulting from expansive soils. This study work is to investigate the uplift movement response of (GPA) in expansive soil. The laboratory tests have been performed on an experimental. The effects of several parameters, such as length (L) of (GPA) and diameter (D), the thi...

Full Scale Reinforced Concrete Beam-Column Joints Strengthened with Steel Reinforced Polymer Systems

This paper presents the results of an experimental campaign performed at the Laboratory of Materials and Structural Testing of the University of Salerno (Italy) in order to investigate the seismic performance of reinforced concrete (RC) beam-column joints strengthened with steel reinforced polymer (SRP) systems. With the aim to represent typical façade frames’ beam-column subassemblies found in...
